Starting in May of this year, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is proposing new rules for opioid addiction treatment by telemedince which, if passed, will affect you as follows:


ALL PATIENTS
STARTING IN MAY


At every visit you will have to show a picture ID with date of birth (driver’s license, state ID, passport, etc.).

The first-visit fee and the weekly-visit fee will both increase to $30 (currently they are $25).

The maximum prescription will be for 30 days (4 weeks).


CURRENT PATIENTS
STARTING IN MAY


If you DO have at least one telemedince visit between June 1st and October 31st of this year, then you DO NOT have to do a one-time, in-person evaluation as described below for new patients.

NEW PATIENTS
STARTING IN MAY


Before you can get a prescription, you will have to do an in-person evaluation at Dr. Mitchell's Fort Lauderdale office which is near I-95 and Broward Boulevard.

This in-person evaluation is a ONE-TIME requirement, and it does not have to be repeated.

There will be no additional charge for this in-person evaluation.
